Waterous Campsite Come and discover the secret that is Waterous Camp site. Nestled in a tranquil forest near the bottom of a valley, the Waterous Campsite is a back to basics campsite and is an ideal location for your Group or section’s next camping adventure.
Located just over an hour south of Perth and just past Waroona, the campsite boasts plumbed toilets, an undercover area, tranquil tent sites, cold showers and two BBQ's (bring your own gas bottles).
Whether you are planning a trip for your youth members to develop camping skills such as cooking, construction or just a relaxing time away then this is the spot for you. Spend the nights doing a nightstalk and marvel at the number of forest creatures that abound in the area or sit around the campfire (depending on fire restrictions), sing songs and telling yarns.
For the more adventurous, the campsite adjoins the Waterous Trail* (an offshoot of the Munda Biddi Trail), and there are opportunities to practice mountain bike riding, hiking and orienteering skills.
If transport is not a problem then spend a day canoeing on the Mandurah Estuary or Murray and Serpentine Rivers with canoes available for hire from the Peel Boat Shed.
There are 15 sites suitable for patrol camping (two tents per site) and a main large camping site (suitable for 8 – 10 tents). You will need to bring your own firewood and beware that fire restrictions are in force at times during the year). Waterous Campsite is a self clean facility and you will need to take your rubbish home with you for disposal.
