The Scout Heritage Centre of WA

The Heritage Centre is more than a museum: it's filled with great activities for youth members to entertain and inform, and it's a gathering point for leaders and the general public interested in Scouting history in WA.

Activities

At the Heritage Centre, you can:

  • Follow the Heritage Trail

  • Try out uniforms and equipment

  • Check out our collection

  • Try your hand at morse code

  • Research Scouting history

  • Browse our reference library

The activites are particularly suitable for Cub Scouts Packs and Scout Troops or Patrols, and can generally fill a program of 90 minutes. If you'd like something a bit different, get in touch.

Volunteer with us

The Heritage Centre is entirely run by volunteers, and there's plenty to do if you'd like to help out. We always need help in cataloguing our collection, answering questions or doing further research, and helping with publicity. Contact us if you're able to help out.

Getting here

The Heritage Centre is located at Scouts WA Headquarters.

581 Murray Street
West Perth

Parking is available at the rear of the building but is often busy.

On public transport, take the free Red CAT from the Perth train station or the Esplanade busport to the Gordon Street stop.

Opening hours

The Heritage Centre is open 10 am - 2 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and by arrangement - contact us to arrange a visit for your group.
